European Transport Academy:
leading the way to a knowledge institute

The STC–Group, with its headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, started the European Transport Academy project in 2009.
With this project, the STC–Group is investing millions in shipping and transport education in the Netherlands. The Education and Knowledge Institute for the Shipping, Transport and Port Industry will hereby arise in Rotterdam.

The European Transport Academy project will realize the following:

• 35 Innovation and R&D projects: 35 Research and Development projects will be completed, comprising investments in new educational material, the STC–Group's simulator park and training facilities for all sectors within the STC–Group. An amount of € 15 million is available for these projects. Half of this amount is subsidized by the program "Kansen voor West", which is in part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
• New building extension at location Brielle: the STC–Group facilities in Brielle, where the Process and Maintenance College is located, will be extended.
• New school building at location Waalhaven: at the STC–Group facilities located at the Waalhaven in Rotterdam a new school building will be constructed for pre–vocational secondary education (VMBO) and secondary vocational education (MBO).
